Thanks guys. I briefly tried a Takamine 12 string, months ago and it sounded like someone throwing nails into a tin. Probably my playing, if I'm honest :)

I played one at the road show a couple of days ago. I love the sound, as did everyone there. The Tayloy guy played a pretty rock'n version of "Amazing Grace" on it. Then he did a couple of drop tunings with it. The lower it goes, the better it sounds.

Hi Guys
Your help and advice would be much appreciated. My local Taylor dealer has ordered a 456ce spring ltd for me to try, no obligation, as a relative beginner with far more enthusiasm than ability what should I expect. I love the fuller sound of a well played twelve string but I'm a little apprehensive about "biting off more than I can chew" and possibly struggling to get on with it. I'm assuming the shape and wood combination is well tried and tested and from all my research it appears that Taylor makes the easiest twelve string to play on the market. Thanks in advance.  Bob.

Bobsol-
I just bought the 456ceSLTD 12 string and I love the sound of the Ovangkol. The playability is just fantastic!
