Hold on guys...it's still early in the year; I'll bet there's more to come. Besides, glossy ovangkol can look very special:

My Taylor Grand Auditoriums:

1997 Cujo14 - old growth cedar/black walnut
2014 K24e - master grade koa
2018 Custom GA - bear claw sitka spruce/mahogany
2019 614 - torrified sitka spruce/flamed maple
2020 714 - lutz spruce/rosewood

I like ovangkol, and much more so glossy; no problem there.  But perhaps Taylor has set too high a bar with most every other Spring and Fall Limited to date as these 400s do not seem "limited quality" to me in the least.  Maybe I'm missing something?  Or better yet, maybe there's more to come :)

again...nice pics SF. beautiful back and sides on the BTO. maybe there is hope. but the bar was set so high after the Grenadillo, African Ebony and "hog series beauties last year. tough to top that without resorting to a secret stash of Brazilian rosewood or even Zebrawood !

What is alluring for me on the 400 series spring Ltd's is when they offer them in all gloss with great woods.  Makes for a bargain.  The EIR run comes to mind but with that run the EIR was average.  My hope is that this run will offer some stunning sets of Ovankol.  That wood is so 3d on great pieces and I know Taylor has plenty of stash Ovankol that they do not have high demand for other than on the standard 400 series.

Ok so everybody that has posted here has indicated what they would like to see from Taylor.  Now lets get your opinion on what you think Taylor will offer this year for the 2014 Spring limited collection. ;)

So when I posted this there was no 2014 LTDs listed.  Never mind. >:(

I'd queried Joe at Empire Music about this over the weekend, and to the best of his knowledge, the gloss-finish 400-series and baritone 300 guitars were it for the Spring Limiteds.  Even Joe seemed disappointed by these offerings, but mentioned that he was hopeful that Taylor might be doing something really big for their 40th-Anniversary offering.  Guess we'll all have to wait and see...
