Hey Captain! Thanks! And yeah...country is the new rock. I went to see the Band Perry and it was bordering on rock...the rock of old anyways.
Rock today is all but non existent! It's disco/pop or country...and country is sounding a whole lot like rock.

If you do try the HD set on your 814, please do tell us what you think.
I was going to put a set on my 814 but didn't get to it yet. Still curious about how they's sound on the GA body.

Thanks for sharing.  For me the stff feel makes we stay with the standard strings.  I will try a set for DADGAD on one of my larger body guitars next string change.  It may feel better in that tuning.

The other day I put a set of the new HD strings on my 2013 514e FLTD.
I have to admit that they really work well on that particular guitar. I have not yet put them on my 2012 814ce.
When I did this comparison on the 2014 812ce 12 fret the HDs felt quite stiff. That guitar was defective so that could have been a factor.
On the 514e they sound and feel great! The high end is clearer and less jangly.
I was skeptical whilst stringing it up but was pleasantly surprised.
The HDs have found a home on the 514e.

I have tried several styles and brands strings on my custom GA and I like the sound HD PB lights the most. The easiest to fret were the Elixir 80/20 lights it came with but the HDs have better treble fullness like others here have noted. I think the overall balance is better on the HD as well. The only other brand I cared for were JP PB 600L : nice balance and depth.
