Got mine this afternoon, sneaked the box past hubby and going to open it tonight....I'm so excited!

;D  Let us know what you think! Also, I'm still playing a "shell game" with my wife - she doesn't know I bought one yet! I have a Big Baby and a 114ce, all with same-color gig bags. So they move around from room to room at random. One last note: I made a big mistake today. I changed the strings on the HV Mini to Elixir Lights, hoping it would be easier on the fingertips. It sounded awful! Kind of off balance and out of tune. It comes with Elixir Mediums, and that is what the brochure recommends. I put the Mediums back on, and it sounds just fine now. But I'm stuck with brand new Elixir lights that are too short (Yeah, I cut 'em off) to fit the standard scale on the others. Dumb mistake. Lesson learned.  ;)

I hear ya, the old shell game LOL. At least collectively not too expensive relatively speaking.
From what I've read and been told, the minis require the Med strings to get all the sound out of them.

Wow...That's self control!  I was tearing into the box with one hand while I was still signing the scanner from the UPS guy with the other!

So I picked mine up this afternoon from the forwarding company I use in Buffalo. It arrived yesterday morning and has been sitting there for 24 hrs in a heated warehouse. A week in transit to arrive
All I did when I picked it up was open the box quickly to check for any damage in which case I would have left it there
for UPS. Placed a couple oasis tubes in the gig bag and drove the hour home. It's now in my humidified guitar room.

Now I know when you have a guitar shipped, especially in this weather, owners tend to let it acclimate in their homes
for a day or 2. Is it really necessary in this case? I mean I've already opened her up to check for striping and it's present.

Thoughts on experiences?

thanks

OMG, shell games! Haven't done that yet. She asked me right after I got the Holden Wednesday, the second new acoustic in 2 week, "So have you started planning your next guitar purchase yet?" HOLY $%#* !  She's on to me.

And yes, I always have at least 2 planned:-)

Anyway, I owe some pix. The stripes are mild, though they may deepen... How do the other new arrivals look?

Again, like my first GSM, it is a fantastic package, a very nice balance if quality materials, good tone and playability. Honestly, I do not think there is a better bargain for all that, and BTW it's a travel guitar too! I do like the tone better than my hog mini, so am glad I "traded" up. BTW, I got used to mediums on my first GSM...however, you can ease the situation with either  a set of medium lights, or creating your own mixed string gauge set.

A good guitar tech can adjust the neck to make the lighter strings work. I never had a guitar that didn't take a trip to the shop soon after I bought it. The intonation on this most recent Holden Mini was pitiful. Forty five minutes later and it sounds like a champ.

I really like the inlay...probably better than most out-of the ordinary inlays...comunicates that life is a journey leading you to a higher spiritual place, if you take the right path :)

Also, think the blonde maple is rather purdy..
