I agree 100%, The Holden Mini is priced very fairly, the cause is a good one, the guitar will be a true collectors piece @ 1000 units, and after all, can you really have too many Mini's? I bought one for my granddaughter and it is on the Brown Truck as we speak. I am seriously thinking of ordering a second one for myself.
I can envision a few personal modifications I would like to see on this little guitar over and above the factory upgrades!

mine came in today. i can't for the life of me figure out how to upload pics. very good sounding guitar. not as warm as my 'hog, but very clear and resonant. doesn't have quite as much "oomph" as the 'hog but i like it. can't wait for it to open up a little bit more !!!  not sure about my spruce. i loaned it out until this weekend.

I received mine yesterday. Very nice. Top quality, flawless - a true Taylor. Sounded good out of the box, so I couldn't put it down. 2 hours later, my fingers hurt. Hard strumming produces that familiar "Elmer's" smell, a sure sign she's breakin' in right. The treble and mids are opening nicely, the lowers may take a little longer. I have a long ski weekend coming up so I'll take it along and try to get a few more hours. Once it settles down, I'll take it in for a professional set-up. This summer I'll try to make it up to Holden Village and show it off.

All this talk, and particularly the pics here and elsewhere, are killing me!  I don't need another guitar!!!  I've got a lovely stable that I don't even deserve!  I already even have maple and engel represented.  But this Holden Mini keeps haunting me.  So all of you ...just stop posting!
...pssst, let's get some nice pics of the figuring, could we? ...just looking, really...

ahh...go on edward...you can justify this wonderful( i think it's the best of the minis) guitar by knowing that you are doing good things with the proceeds. helping a bible camp and the drinking water supplies of a lot of other needy people. just look up the holden village website or check out the HV thread on the AGF. there's some great back story by one of the holden village employees about the 2 trees cut for the tops. on this guitar you'll have the entire story of it from the day the tree fell. how many of your guitars have that much info on them ?
if you need me to, i'll come over and twist your arm......  8) 8) 8) 8)

After reading this thread last week, I decided to bite the bullet as this "mini" has also been haunting me since first seeing a photo of it last Fall.  I placed the order last Friday (2/21) and just recieved confirmation last night that it was shipped and will be in my hot little hands by the end of the day Thursday!

...and I THOUGHT I would have a couple of months to talk myself out of it!

Paid for mine a week ago and it showed up yesterday. About 2 hours later got a confirmation that it had shipped! Nice guitar and a good cause. Being in the Pacific NW, I like the idea that the woods have almost come full circle.

It has been fun reading this thread - love the whole premise of the guitar and the Holden Valley story.  I mentioned to my wife about some here wanting to "collect the different Mini offerings."

She said, "Well, you better get going."  I enjoy seeing all the guitars here, even enjoy the occasional visit to different guitar shops... but my GAS symptoms are obvious more under control than my wife's enabling tendencies.

Keep the photos and stories of the Holden arrivals coming!

Best wishes,
Jim

Getting one of these is so tempting.... if I can only hold out until the next Limited offerings come out.

True, it's always tempting to see what comes next, but it's unlikely there will ever be another Mini in Engleman spruce. Can't even get a full-sized Taylor through BTO with that top.

Why choose? Get the Holden now, and the next LTD.  ;D

StepChild is a very very bad influence. And so are you all !

I sold my hog GSM today and ordered my Holden Valley GSM. Will probably never let go of that one, but I may have to pick up another hog mini. Just couldn't quite justify two of them with the controller here at tone headquarters. Yet. It didn't help that a dread "dropped" into the family last week. A sudden surprise.

So, question is will I get stripey or not-stripey. I WANT stripey:-) Anyone call any favors into the mothership — I noticed on AGF people were talking about calling these orders in, and I am wondering whether  they could even change, or whether they're just loading boxes (ie, they are all sealed waiting to go).

OK, pictures at 11.

good for you PJ.
this is definitely the best sounding GS mini i've heard. brought mine on my little guitar store getaway. at 2 of the shops, i could have sold it right then and there to employees for what i paid for it... one for more. i was considerate enough to tell them where to order them. stopping at 2 more tomorrow... i plan on coming home with mine.... unless someone offers to trade a Veyron or small caribbean country for it.
