May Be My Favorite Ever! NGD
« on: January 30, 2014, 06:42:08 PM »
:-*This Taylor is the 2008 Fall LTD. That was almost sold unanounced. a run of 50 Grand Symphony's made with CV Adirodack braced natural  Adirondack tops and some of the last batches of Brazilian rosewood offered on Production run Taylors.
I have been seeking this guitar since it apperance. I did have a 2006 GS-BA except this model did not have the Adi CV bracing.
Well I've had too many Taylor and still do. And above all this is my sound I've been seeking out of Taylor . Power, Snap, Pop,
Zing,  Boom, Clearity, Bass. Eveness and sparkel. Sound like a recipy of goodness and it really is.

If you play Medium stringed giutars you'd get off on the fun to play mood of this GS.
I got lucky and I think the sets of wood I fell into are of topp o the heep. And I'm very pleese with it. voice and plability .

One very nice plain Ol Taylor

Ooooh wow!  BrazillianRW, the stuff is becoming like hen's teeth.  Nice score and congrats!!

So I've long read about BRW and heard of its near-mythical loveliness.  Seriously, can you offer a tonal comparison of Adi/RW and Adi/BRW as best you can?  (or ignoring the Adi part, do you have experience with BRW compared to regular EIR?).  Of course I totally understand there are a number of build-differences that likely separate two such guitars, but I'd like to know from an owner what one gets with the braz.  Thanks!

I can't give you an exact AB comparison, because I own a Braz with an Adi top and bracing whereas my EIR's are topped with Sinker redwood or cedar, but what is evident is the Braz played fingerstyle has greater note separation and clarity, and a bit more warmth as well. Strummed, the eir has a more legato character than the Braz.

Very nice piece. Great find.
I have one from the same Limited run, but in a Grand Concert size. (GC-LTD-B)
Used Brazilian Taylors are some of the best deals out there, especially with the costs of a new build (from pretty much anybody) today..
