I'm a big fan!! Tried other strings several times and just recently had DR dragon skins on my 810 and was really depressed with the way it was sounding. Changed back to elixirs the day before my last show and the magic was back!!

Hard to beat the old cheap Martin medium in the blue box. Got a batch on sale.

All three of my Taylors like Elixir Nano PB's (instead of 80/20's).  I usually use 11-52 and replace the first string with a 12 (a single string is pretty cheap and I buy a bunch of them every time I order strings) to end up with 12-52.  This is the best tone of anything I have tried, and as a bonus, the best string life as well.  I don't mind D'addario EXP's tonewise, but they turn my fingertips black no matter how often I wipe the strings or wash my hands.  Strange - just must be my particular body chemistry.  The Elixirs leave my fingers clean - another bonus!

Initially I didn't care for them but grew accustomed. I found when I tried my usual brand (on my R Taylor) it buzzed and sounded tinney. Not bright but way too bright and even thin. Made a $4,500 guitar sound like it came from Sears! So I went back to Elixirs' on that guitar. After playing around with the sizes (and some neck adjustments) I settled on custom light poly's. I agree with the other members and really dig the life span of the coated strings but I still prefer the old school sound of phos bronze on my other guitars, Especially after they're played in.

That is why I never buy the Elixers too bright and after a couple weeks picking they look like the need a hair cut.
