The only mods I've done are:
1) wearing a bit of the finish off above the strings and at the soundhole below the strings
2) buckle rash on the back

Hi Phillip,

Really interested in how you took the pick guard off the mini, was it difficult and does it leave any marks? Love the effect, looks really clean.

JUST HEAT UP WIT A BLOW DRYER ON LOW AND GO SLOWLY,PEELING IT OFF..HELPS TO USE A GUITAR PICK UNDER THYE EDGES.THE NEWER THE GUITAR,THE EASIER TO REMOVE IT..

Posted a pic of my mini with the PG removed in another thread. That thread is locked now, for some reason. Had a tan line where the PG was, so I put on one made of walnut. Figured if it affected the sound, I'd just take it back off. I don't notice any change in sound. I like the tortoise color on light wood, but it didn't look right on my hog's color. While I was at it, I put on black Gotoh mini's and ebony bridge pins.

Love the look of the brass bridge pins.  Although I prefer the metal knobs, Gotohs are just the best in my book.  Question for you though, Did the brass bridge pins change the tone any ?

Well, I have a '95 510e, 'hog with an Engleman Spruce top. As soon as the ES came out, had it modded by Taylor. Does that count? Because it was pre-NT, they kindly fashioned a pickup to go in the soundhole. Kind of a pre-cursor to the GO p'up in the GS Mini. Then, when they upgraded the ES, I had them do that too, along with a "tune up". She'll be 20 years old on 7/14/'15. Sounds awesome through my modded Super Champ X2, and plays great with Elixir Custom Lights. Never had a buzzing issue, either. Plus, I removed the 'guard from my GS Mini...piece of cake. Haven't done anything to my SB2-S Koa Ltd. except raise the p'ups height to get more tone.

1995 510e w/ES system retrofit

Only guitar I've modded is my 814. Took off the PG and installed a bone nut and saddle.
Goin to do a bone saddle on the 412 and do custom TRCs on it, the 814 and the custom soon.

@Jurrasicway - Here's a pic of my Mini Hog after pg removal. Azslacker gave a good in-a-nutshell way to remove. I'm including a Youtube link that I found helpful before removing mine. Be sure to read the comments on that video as others gave some good input. A couple of quick tips. While you don't have to remove your strings it is a good ideal to at least loosen them. This takes pressure off the bridge. Try to avoid getting too much direct heat on the bridge as that might soften the glue there. And keep the heat on low, it doesn't take much to soften the pg adhesive. The residue is easily rubbed off with a little heat while rubbing. Also, you will want to go ahead and clean it with mild soapy water, that helps to get more residue off. I went ahead and changed my strings at the same time and did a full clean up.
