Strap locks GS Mini
« on: October 06, 2013, 12:26:16 PM »
I have a GS-Mini that I would like to attach strap locks on so I can flip the guitar around my back when carrying it. However the bottom strap button is not a standard button and I'm wondering if I can simply remove it and install a regular locking button and screw? Anybody had any experience with one of these buttons?

Ah, nothing yet. I'll see if I can get a picture posted of this oddity and hopefully somebody will be able to help out.

I looked at mine, figured someone would chime in by now...BRB

That's what's underneath. Looks like electronics access and/or a potential custom modded strap lock button.  :)

Thanks Code for the picture, I've yet to remove mine. It looks like I am definitely in for a custom modification on this one.

You could make a tether of sorts to keep the strap on the button. The downside is removing the tether to remove the strap. A little baling wire, some duct tape (optional), and you've in business.  :)

This system, or something similar, looks like it might work. You might have to enlarge the hole though. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/dunlop-dual-design-straplok-system/364008000377000?source=3WWRWXGP&gclid=CPSS08Wjj7oCFSVBQgod2iEAHQ&kwid=productads-plaid^57302445067-sku^364008000377000@ADL4MF-adType^PLA-device^c-adid^30421659987

You might also want to consider this seemingly simple solution: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EInjNVWDjcE
