Taylor SB Custom pickups (Buzz)
« on: February 27, 2013, 06:28:39 PM »
I have a 2007 SB Custom with the mini Humbuckers. I play at several places and have a very nice, quiet rig. But the church I play at on Sundays, my pickups react terribly to the wiring/lights. Its SO bad, its embarrassing. I've borrowed a PRS with humbuckers and it sounds fine in there. Wondering if switching to Taylor HG pickups would work, although it doesnt sound like High Gain is the fix. Any ideas?   And keep in mind that I have no issues with the entire rig at other places.  Thanks

Does any other place you play have the same type of lighting as the church?

If no, it would seem as though that would be the likely culprit. I don't know that I would make any major changes to my equipment because of one venue. I would simply play a different guitar when performing in that venue.

Possibly the FUSED string ground?  Yes Taylor has these on the electrics too like the Acoustics.  So possibly the fuse blown.
