Welcome bluutonic.

Nice first post.

I like those 312ce's.  Great little guitars.  I especially like mine in DADGAD tuning.

What are some folks doing to post pics so small? Is there another method (other than posting pics to Photobucket, et al, and then copying the "direct link" of the web-posted photo into the body of the UTGF post text) that is allowing people to post pics in a tiny format? Obviously there is, since it's happening, and I'm wondering if we can try to bring them up to speed on the way to post much larger pics, for all of our benefit? Can we inform users (in a sticky, perhaps?) how to use the "other/better" way so that we can all see the beautiful detail that only a large photo can show? I've seen 3-5 users in the last week post tiny pics (tempalias... bluetonic... TP516...) and thought it might be time to educate the forum as a whole.  ;D Cindy? Michael? Josh? Would this be helpful? (If so, and none of you have the time/desire to post it, I can do so.)

Dustin, some of the smaller pics have been uploaded as attachments rather than being linked to Photobucket/Flickr. With the pic of my TRC, I opted for a smaller pic which would enlarge somewhat when clicked on. When I linked it to a full size pic, it was just TOO HUGE! Not everyone will want to go the Photobucket/Flickr route though...

I do think the size limit of 128k per pic/192k per all 4 pics is severely limiting, and that the "default" method of pic posting should be the Photobucket route, for the sake of ALL viewers to he forum. I understand that some won't want to do it, and that's fine, but from what I understand, the steps aren't too much easier to do it the attachment way, and with the limitations, it dosen't make much sense (at least not to me).

REGARDING YOUR TRC DEAL... I guess my having Photoshop on my PC and having an intimate knowledge of how to edit, adjust, re-size, crop and otherwise manipulate photos BEFORE posting them to Photobucket helps me to maintain a consistent, large-but-not-too-big size format for all the pics I post to a forum. Maybe you and others don't/won't have that knowledge/software access.

I did post a "tutorial" on how to post pics the "Photobucket way" on both the Taylor section and the Introduce Yourself section for those who want to know how to go that route.

i think that perhaps the easiest route for most will be to upload a pic from their computer's
hard drive as an attachment to post them here (the image will need to be clicked on) -
if the pic (file) is too large, it can always be reduced in size using Paint (on a PC) &
i think that around 150-200k is a good size pic (no need to scroll to see the entire pic)

dustin, i didn't realize that there was 192K limit, as i've posted 10 smaller pics, 56k or so
at once in one post, but i agree that pics that are larger than avatar size would be preferred :)

thanks for posting the Photobucket method of posting pics here -
it be nice for it to go into a permanent FAQ section ... Josh, you listening buddy ;)

There is a limit of 128kb per item - total limit is 192kb for 4 items.  That is pretty small and I had to really manipulate my photos to get them up here.  Still working on the Mini.  However, even with the limit I would prefer just being able to attach a picture rather than going thru another website - it's why I don't post anything at AGF.  That's just me however, me and computers really don't get along very well.

hi Cindy,
i didn't want to 'hijack' cotten's welcome thread - here is the pic you requested

it is the UTGFM, i mean, Cindy inlay (00 914c) with abalone fretboard extension -
the hummingbird also has its eye 'open' (some birds do not have an eye 'dot')

TP516,
the 192k/4 pic limit is for attachments, which i haven't tried - the 10 pics i put into one post
were linked from a host & granted they are a bit on the smaller size, but they all went though ok

hi Dustin,

i apologize for the error, as i was misformed regarding the photo attachment process -
also, the photos that i posted were linked from a site & the 192k/4 pic limit
does not apply when that process is used (linking rather than by attachment)

thanks again for the Photobucket user outline -
i need to open an account there because it
seems to work much better here than what i use

play on :D

Here is my BTO. Cedar top with Mahogany back and sides. Ebony binding, 600 series inlay, T5 neck, short scale, shaded edgburst, Gotoh ebony tuners.  Sounds like honey, plays like butter.

Here's a quick hit and run pic of my T3 & R. Taylor. Better pictures to follow when I have the time.
