The one I have at the moment has wood binding although its Maple. I always seem to name my guitars (I'm not even sure I do it on purpose.. it just.. happens) and like a fool I've named this one Bobby. And boom, an emotional attachment has happened! So we'll see. I'll keep you posted :) One of the things I am conscious of is the fact that with the guitar I have at the moment, the wood has had time to age, whereas the one that's arriving has been made within the last ten weeks. How did you find the tone of the koa with it being so new?

Many people comment that the Koa develops it's sound over a period of years, so I guess in that respect it's a keeper. I really liked the tone from new and can only say that it is beginning to 'soften'  or 'warm' if that is the right expressions. The more I play it the better it sounds. Not sure if that's the guitar starting to open up or just the bond strengthening. Either way, it's my first Koa so I'm enjoying the whole learning curve with it. Something really special about these guitars that's difficult to explain and it's gonna have to be a pretty spectacular guitar to knock this one of its spot.  :)

I know how you feel :) Whilst my K14ce is the 2011 model, I am still its first owner so it is essentially brand new. Its going to be such a tough decision!! People keep saying sarcastically that it must be so hard to have the choice between two amazing guitars - but what it comes down to is, I'm putting a lot of money out there, so I need to make sure that I'm 100% happy with my choice :) Although I guess in some ways whichever guitar becomes the keeper, they're both amazing, so it's always going to be a win!

Yes you're spending some considerable coin so it's only natural you're a little anxious about your upcoming decision.

Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit and usually drawn from envy. Wouldn't worry too much about it as the only opinion that really matters is yours.

Great covers on your site. Lover the Fields of Gold and the Ngarra one too. Keep up the good work  :D

New pics of my new 2013 FLTD 514e:

Beautiful guitar Strumming Fool - makes me very anxious to get mine (due in late Nov.).  Curious about the tuner keys and bridge pins - are they BTO requests by you, mods you've made, or just the way it came?  They're very nice, but different from the photos on the Taylor site.

Thanks,

[NEVERMIND:  Just saw your post in the "Modified Taylors" thread.  Good taste mods imho.]

Being a Coco nut myself, I feel the love you must have for this one.  Nice.

I posted some pics before of the K14ce I had that my dealer delivered by mistake. The new one has now been made and delivered, and I did indeed decide to go for the swap. Was difficult to see the one on the left go, but the one on the right was just slightly better. So here are some pics! First both guitars together, and then the one I took home.
