Taylor ES system issues on all the new 2012's
« on: November 24, 2012, 03:19:20 AM »
So I have tried about 10 2012 model taylors 300 range to 800 range and 7 out of 10 had failing ES systems right outta the box already. They all have the newest version 3.2 boards in them. Has anyone else been experiencing this with the newest Taylors? Makes me wary of ever relying on an es system for a gig....

I can be forgiven for being a bit suspicious  that the above post may possibly be an attempt to get a rise out of UTGF members and reading the other three posts made by its author, as of this writing, did nothing to allay that suspicion.

I had a 2012 K24ce and the ES worked flawlessly until the guitar was destroyed. Never had a problem with it.

What kind of failure? Could you be more specific? I've tried several 2012 ES's and never noticed anything.  And how did you know they were "Version 3.2" boards? It's kinda hard peeking inside the soundholes on 10 guitars that you have taken outta the box yourself.

Same for me, as have all of my Taylors.  I have never had a single issue with a ES to date. ;D ;D

ES in Fall Limited is working flawlessly.  Troll-Boy needs to remember to turn the amp on...

Hmmm... I have tried about ten 2012 Taylors too and SEVENTEEN of them had ES's that worked just fine.  So I guess if we combine our results, 20 out of 20 ES equipped Taylors worked perfectly!   ;)

I own two Taylors with the third generations ES.  I've played them out in hundreds of venues with ZERO issues.

Did you make sure that the guitars were plugged in?  ???

You flip the switch (Little white slider switch).
You do not flip the board.
If you break the board off, it has been proven to result in a total disconnect 70 percent of the time.

Can I recommend an Esteban guitar?
The electronics are accessible on the top.
Comes with a few DVD's too.
You've probably seen it on TV...

You will be much happier.
I am sure of this

This shows you that Taylor even takes the utmost care when they ship your guitar.
They make sure that the volume is turned down, until you plug it in.

On another note:
On my key board there is a sequence that works really well if done early and at the right time.

2012 714 Nylon...purchased in May, performed flawlessly at 30+ gigs to date.  Not me, the guitar! :)  I'm very happy with the ES.  So what's the problem?
