I'm not getting the phone (I can't hear well enough to use one) but I'm likely to get the new iPod Touch. I have an earlier one and use it constantly, but it's rather banged up by now.

We preordered today. Verizon says delivery will be 10/5, which is exactly two weeks after they're available for purchase at Apple Stores.

Got a 4S a few days ago and still learning how to use it.  I like it but it feels like a brick compared to my old LG Vue from about 5 years ago.

Found a website that has iPhone cases with guitars on them and one is of a bunch of Taylors tho' I'm not likely to pay $50+ for it:

Then again, you may want to get one, for no other reason than it's going to be a collector's item once Taylor finds out about those...

my buddy got his (AT&T) & it has a bigger screen, but with the i4/S apps he's got
they don't fill the screen - kinda looks 'letter-boxed' or 16:9 on a CRT TV (black border)

i'd think there would be update some time to where the older apps that
were previously downloaded will be 'corner-to-corner' on the bigger display

for now, i'll pass on any smartphone -
i don't use internet access from my phone & i'm not fond of the data package charges

The apps need to be updated, portions of the code rewritten, to take advantage of the larger screen. Some apps have already been updated and I don't think it will be long before most of them use the entire screen. For example, CNN's news app and Kindle's app for the iPhone have already been optimized for the larger iPhone 5 screen.

I use my iPhone for much more than internet access. I use it as an accurate guitar tuner, an audio recorder, a video and still camera, a GPS, areal time analyzer, a sound pressure level meter (more accurate than Radio Shack's SPL meter), a signal generator, a bar code reader and when I go to the Apple store, their store app allows me to pickup any item, scan it and walk out with it without having to wait for a sales clerk to ring up my purchase as it automatically charges my credit card.

Since my iPhone has a GPS app with free updates, I no longer have to pay Honda to update my car's in-dash navigator.

I'm eligible to upgrade in February. Still going to do some comparative shopping, but my heart's pretty much set on the iPhone 5!

Wow, the prices of the iPhone 5 are just stupid...

As has been mentioned a time or 2 before, the prices are exactly the same for the iP5 as they were for the 4 and 4S (and maybe even the 3GS). I feel the price is worth it based on iTunes/iCloud compatibility and all the features and benefits the Apple product lines bring to the table. There is no other phone that does what the iPhone does, especially when considering the native apps, and the interconnectivity with other Apple products (including the App Store) and the cloud.

My 64gb iP5 (black) is on the way to my AT&T store... I should have it in the next day or 2. Then my wife gets my iP4S, my son gets my wife's iP4, and my other son already has an iP4. The only phone on my family plan of 5 phones that will not be an iPhone will be my younger daughters "text-only" phone.

I sold my iPhone 4s,  and my wife's, bro-in-law's, mom-in-law's, and father-in-law's iPhone 4s in 24 hours and we all switched to Verizon and got iPhone 5s.

All loving it. We are kind of Apple-heads though. In our house: 5 iPhone 5s, iPad 2, iPad 3, newest iPad, iMac, 2 MacBooks, 2 MacBook Pros, 2 classic iPods, 2 iPod nanos, and 2 Apple TVs.

I like Apple because it works and I like it. If it stops working and I stop liking it, I'll buy something else. I don't buy it just because it says Apple on it. Just to be clear.

Honestly, the i5 is so similar to previous iPhone models, that I hardly even remember that I got one. The only reason I did is because I was switching to Verizon from AT&T, so I had to get a new phone anyway. I've had every model of iPhone since it came out, so I'm not overly blown away by the incremental progression from one model to the next. lol...

Actually, more to the point, having an iPhone works against me while waiting for the new guitar, because I just keep looking up pictures of Taylor guitars with the woods I ordered, lol. Plus I keep checking my email to see if there are any updates on the order! hahaha
