User Guide? Adjusting pickup sensitivity.
« on: October 16, 2012, 06:44:28 PM »
Just received my 214ce-Nylon without a user guide...I have emailed Taylor but no reply...does anyone have a link for a pdf?  I need to adjust the pickup sensitivity on my D and G strings, which are 50% of the output of the other strings.

Thanks in advance

I don't think you'll be doing that anytime soon.

But, just for fun, have you bothered contacting Taylor about having the pickup sensitivity adjusted?
No one has ever been on their death-bed wishing they'd been more practical...

I am still waiting for a reply for a link for a pdf of the user guide!

Based on your reply, I assume I won't be able to do this on my own?

update: I found a blog sheet on this very topic - I will try the few suggestions they offer, but it appears it has to be done by a Taylor specialist.

Well, I never did get any reply back from Taylor regarding my request for a link to a user guide for my 214cen.

I have read comments regarding preamp adjustments and was hoping to get more info from the guide.

If anyone can respond with a download link for a pdf of the user guide, it would be much appreciated.

i haven't seen a tech sheet just for the ES-T/N -
the ES-N's pre-amp is voiced for nylon strings (lower tension), with the
controls being bass, treble, volume & a phase switch (soundhole accessible)
ES-T video

i'm guessing that if the underside of the saddle is flat & the saddle is seated
correctly, that the bridge saddle slot may require a bit of cleaning up/leveling -
there may be more affordable ways of doing it, but there are saddle slot files
it's not about what you play,
it's all about why you play ...
