210 upgrades

Well here it is. I just ordered the 210 dread, (2 days ago), and its' on its way to AFG. I have already been scouring the web for info on upgrades. Sad huh? Don't even have it yet....Here we go.....

gotoh 510 deltas in gold,

bone saddle and nut, (do you think it is a good or worthy replacement for the nubone)?

MOP inlaid ivory or horn bridge pins,

Custom trussrod cover
 I think it will look sharp, and will inspire me to play often.....

First off Dave, let me thank you for your service. Be careful as you can out there!

Secondly, congrats on your new 210. Bet you will love it!

Regards your upgrade list, all good stuff. The Gotohs are sweet. Bone nut and saddle may change the tone but could go both ways (+/-). You'll have to be the judge of that. Bridge pins and truss rod covers are purely aesthetic but hey, if it makes you play more ... go for it.

Great guitar. I have owned a couple of 210's over years. Anything you do to it is a plus. It will be nice to look at, but most of all nice to listen to.

Thanks CG...But just for the record, I am not military, I work for the DOD....We do support....Not to say that stuff dont happen though...This is probably the first time I have looked forward to returning from R&R...LOL Hopefull the e air isn't too too dry here, I willl keep it in its case the entire time is is not being played. Probably should get a couple humid packs. Pretty exciting gettin' on the Taylor bus...

That's a coincidence. I work for the DoD as well and have a couple deployments under my belt. Take care and keep us posted on how you and your Taylor are getting along.

Alrighty then....Back from 3 week R&R in Belize....And the Taylor is here!!   She's a beauty, tuned her up yesterday, and WOW.   The tone in incredible, with the stock strings even, (elixers) I did get two other sets to test drive just in case, (martin PB's and D'Addario PB's both in 13-56's)...I will try them out once I get bored w/ the sound of the stockers....All in all, very impressed with the quality of build and factory set up...Looking forward to getting to know her. Will probably upgrade the tuners soon to 510 deltas in antique gold......

Got the new pegs from Bob Colosi on order (dyed bone w/ abalone inlay), and the Gotoh 510 Delta  tuners in antique gold...Should be very cool. I am very much enjoying this ride on the  Taylor bus....Thanks Bob...

Very exiting news without a doubt. I could do with Colosi pins too, they look really nice when the light is reflected. Hope the guitar will give you a lot of inspiration. And a thank you from me too Bob!

Cool, 510 deltas (satin gold) got here yesterday, along w/ the bone/abalone inlay bridge pins from Colosi...Gonna try and install tonight...Will post pics...Stay tuned...No pun intended..
