G day Dave, Great to hear your still getting out there with your T5's. It's funny how the T5 keeps popping back up on the scene with me too, I stopped using it at gig's & open mic's for about a year. I'm a bit spoilt and have been using the 35th anniversary Cocobolo GS at one particular open mic, no amps or drums available so it's purely acoustic guitars through the pa.

Decided couple of weeks ago to take the T5 and play through my sans amp amp modelor. Wow I forgot how good these pedals are, I jumped up with another couple who I've never played with before, they'd never seen me with the T5 either so they didn't know what it could do.

The were playing a nice medium paced ballad, I was just using pick up position 2 also for some little fills, the guy nodded at me to express myself and go for it, let's just say all the open mouths in the room tell the rest of the story.

They are truely high fedelity pick ups and slight tweaks of the bass and treble really make a great differance, just don't try and play with too much gain is how I came to find what this guitar can do.

Keep experimenting guys and remember (less is best) when it come to using high gain with the T5.

Coldshot,
Sounds like great fun. I play lots of fills and phrases with the T5 when I play with a choral group. I have also used it to do a "musical" and that was a real kick.
Lots of flexibility. My buddy, RESO48 may want to know which SansAmp pedal you are using. I really like the SansAmp gear. I have an acoustic DI; the Tri-Pedal; and the California pedal which is modeled after the Mesa Mark IV. They really are sweet in that you can get a beautiful clean T5 tone.
Stay well,

G day Dave, I'm using the sans amp GT2. I've also tried the california, the GT2 has 3 modes british, california and tweed. Works great with the L5  and 335 also. Have a great weekend folks.

How about string gauge? The T5 comes with, to acoustic players, pretty light electric strings. Do people here prefer to get 12-52s/53s on them?

I've been using Elixer .012 gauge electric strings for a few years now, they have a wound G string and I think the acoustic tone is pretty good.
