Another Australian Taylor
« on: July 01, 2012, 06:54:29 AM »
Greetings from Queensland. I must admit that 6 or 7 months ago I'd never heard of Taylor guitars, they're just not that well known here , although that's starting to change I think. Looking to finally buy a good guitar after 40 years of bashing on cheap things, the sales guy handed me a big baby Taylor & my life changed. Considerable research , a 'find your fit' type approach & a conveniently timed Roadshow narrowed it down to a couple of models , & being a bit of a dread fan, I walked out the door with a 410ce. Couldn't be happier, a bone saddle & pins courtesy of Bob Colossi has mellowed it a little & sharpened up the bass, sounds beautiful. And my 'good luck' story -  the day after I brought it home I broke my left hand & spent 9 1/2 weeks in a cast, still struggling a bit with barre chords a month on, but we'll get there!

Welcome to the forum.
Congratulations on the 410ce, it is going to serve you well.  Sorry to hear of your set back with your hand, that must have been frustrating.

Hello mate! Always nice to see Aussies here...my Aussie is a hairy, 4-legged kind! ;)

Sorry to hear about your broken hand and hope a complete recovery is right around the corner. Ovangkol has a beautiful tone (I love the 3xx and 4xx series' tonal qualities) so hope you have many years of enjoyment together! :)
