Interesting. During this post, I did what I have not done before and opened the "Attachments and other options" menu at the bottom of the new post screen, and lo and behold, there it is... the option to "attach" a pic to a post.

I DO NOT LIKE AT ALL the limitation of 4 pics, or of the 128k/192k size limits (WAY too small to have nice big detailed pics).

Based on this, I am even more convinced than ever that the "standard AGF" method is the best way to post pics here on the UTGF.

I access the forum from either my iphone or ipad and the pics i post dint seem to fit right.  I've been using the photobucket method of copying the URL directly into the body of the post. Works well elsewhere but the pics are way too wide on here.

Another interesting note. I have accessed the UTGF (and the AGF) from my iPad, but never my iPhone. The pics I post from Photobucket that are nice and large show up great on my iPad (so maybe it's just the super small format of the iPhone that messes with the way the big pics show up?), and of course they look great on my laptop PC.

I had not factored in the use of smartphones to browse the forum being a deciding factor on how pics are posted. Very interesting...

Let's please dial it back a bit on pushing pics of guitars as it's not a requirement. We certainly don't want to scare off any newbies either!

As for the size limitations of attachments, this is what Simple Machines says: Attachments are stored on the server the forum resides on and use the disk space provided. Because of this, uploaded attachments are often limited in size, or width and height, to prevent overuse of disk space.

Either way (attachments or linked to Photobucket/Flikr) works. If it's easier for some people to submit small pics, then that's great. We don't want members feeling like they are obligated to do a lot of photo editing or creating unwanted photo accounts so whatever works is fine (and no pics is fine, too). Thank you.

OK, finally.......here's my Mini.  I really liked the front grain on this one - the blur is from the photo - the grain is straight on the guitar itself.

Niiiiice! Thanks for going to the trouble to post a pic. I like it when I click on the thumb and the larger photo appears. COOL!
