Let's see your vids!!
« on: April 17, 2012, 12:00:07 AM »
I know there's plenty of talent on this forum, and of course, plenty of really nice guitars.  So let's see what you've got.  Show us videos of you and your Taylors.

I'll get things started with this vid i recently shot.  It's a cover of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah'.  I know . . . its been done and done by so many great artists, but I just love the song.

Now let's see 'em!

Hi Neil, very beautiful interpretation of one of my favourite songs.

Here is a video from a concert with Brooks Robertson and me: Tribute to Buster B Jones.
And another from the same concert where I play my arrangement of The South Wind.

The guitar I play in both videos is the prototype Taylor GC5 with ES, exhibited at the NAMM 2007 to introduce the Grand Concert with short scale and slothead.

Good job on that tune!  Just made a review vid for the Taylor GT-8 Baritone.  This seems like a good strand to put it in :)

Nice work guys!!

Stringbound - Incredibly beautiful stuff.  Love the style!

Doug, that GT-8 is SWEET!  I'm betting it would get along well with my other axes.

Steve, good job and nice song selection.  What kind of black Taylor were you playing?

. . . and JR, I thought folks here would probably appreciate the banner!  Ha!

Good stuff so far - Keep 'em coming people!!

Thanks, guys!

Steve, good job and nice song selection.  What kind of black Taylor were you playing?

It was actually a deep blue Maple jumbo. It was a custom job, but back before the days of "Build To Order".

Some years back, Taylor used to hold what was known as "Taylor Night". We had a pretty nice performance venue in one of the buildings; stage, lights, pro sound the whole nine yards. A lot of the Taylor videos were done there. It's where Kenny Loggins played for 100 of us for Taylor's 30th Anniversary and where Taylor Swift had her "Fearless" album release.

Anyway, you'd sign up to play, and at least one member of your group (if you weren't a solo act) had to be a Taylor employee. Kevin is the bass player from my old band, and Marklyn (the guy to my right) is a long-time friend from the days of another guitar forum...

Probably the last Taylor recording I'll be making - already sold my 814ce last week, this 410ce Spring 2010 LTD is going to a new home tomorrow:

Woah, hate to see you go Taylor-less, you strummed that dread well!

Sounded great,  the small stage means your hitting the big time.  Congratulations.  Beautiful guitar, that sinker is really nice.
