Fun day at The Podium
« on: February 14, 2012, 04:41:37 PM »
Had to kill some time while getting some work on my car, so I headed over to The Podium.
I've been considering a 12 fret BTO, so I wanted to try some GA's and GC's and several wood combinations.

Played some very nice Taylor's, and also some Martin's.
They had a custom Martin  OO-S all mahogany 12 feet that was outstanding, the action was definitely stiffer than the Taylor's but the tone was amazing.
Also tried a Kennedy OM Lutz and RW that was out of this world!

I thought I'd leave with some of my questions answered, but I left with more questions.
Also, it was kinda cool that Charlie Parr stopped in to buy some strings while I was there!

Next time you're at The Podium, check out their little collection of Fairbanks guitars -- Dale is an up and coming builder making some awesome vintage-Gibson-style models, some of which have his own little embellishments like the adirondack/rosewood small-body guitar he's got there right now (unless it's gone -- it just went up on the website).
