Hello UTGF! After a few months of looking everywhere online and playing in a few local places, I finally went for it and got my first nice acoustic guitar this week. Since it’s a Taylor, it seemed like an appropriate time to join this site. I’ve been playing guitar for over 20 years and while I have a decent collection of electric guitars that I like, I’ve made do with a 90s Alvarez electro-acoustic dreadnaught that I got in a trade with a good friend for a weird 80s synth. I wanted to find something a little less boomy, more comfortable, and clear sounding, so of course I was drawn to the Taylor line. I looked up and down the Taylor line (fortunate to have a somewhat-flexible budget right now) and I started to zero in on the 300 and 400 series. I found an older 315 at a local shop that was very intriguing but I decided that a jumbo wasn’t what I needed right now. Ultimately, I came across a still-new 414ce LTD with V-class bracing and Black Limba back/sides (2019 NAMM special) that I fell in love with. It showed up here earlier this week and I couldn’t be happier with it. Anyhow, I wanted to say hi to everyone here; now I need to get back to playing.
