Flat sound
« on: January 15, 2020, 12:03:34 PM »
Hey everyone!
I've just purchased my first Taylor, a 114ce (2019 model). All in all, I love the guitar, but the sound of it sometimes feels a little bit flat, quiet, blunt, not very crisp or not detailed enough (compared to the "sound tests" I listened on youtube before buying it). Will it change as the time goes by? Or is it caused by the brand new strings, maybe the actual settings of the guitar? It also produces some kind of "buzz" coming from the direction of the bridge when picking the low E string (grabbing an F or a G note for example), so i'm planning to take the guitar to an instrument specialist to get it set well. Anyways, I was a bit surprised hearing this kind of "flatness", cause I wouldn't have expected this from a $900 guitar, especially from a Taylor (even if it has layered wood on the back and the sides) so I really hope that a time or a setting will fix this "issue", but I'd be very happy if you could give me some sort of answer or explanation for this, because I'm a bit anxious now.
