Title: Hello from Cobham, UK!

Hello all!
After tinkering (for more years than I would care to remember!) on a basic (although it has served me well!) entry-level guitar, I finally invested in my first ‘proper’ guitar  … had been pondering the 210 series … saw a nice deal on a 310ce … and then (at the same dealer) a 410e at a similar price!

This forum has already provided a lot of useful insight … I went for the 410e … it arrived on Tuesday … my ‘tinkering’ already sounds better! … should have done this years ago!

The 400 series are much respected around here. Does it have rosewood or ovangkol for the back and sides?

Thanks Strumming Fool! ... the guitar has ovangkol back and sides ... I think it looks great and even with my limited ability seems to play well ... I just hope I can do it justice!  :)

Welcome Charlie. Like SF said, there is a lot of love for the 400 series here, including me. My 2002 414 is a life-keeper....I just enjoy it that much. We would love to see pics of your new 410e, if you have the time.

Welcome to the forum CharlieMc.  Good choice on the 410e.  I love the full body ( no cutaway)it looks great, and Ovankol has great tone

That's the answer I was hoping for. Ovangkol definitely stands out in a world filled with rosewood guitars. Rosewood is very nice, but I'm a big ovangkol fan. Play it in good health and enjoy the ride!
