Title: NGD cutaway day!
Post by: Bmoney on January 23, 2018, 08:38:25 AM

SO I had my "forever" guitar when I bought my 2014 812e 12 fret

BUT...

it always bothered me...both in playing and the thought/look that it didnt have the cutaway (got a good deal so jumped at trying the 12 fret even without the CE)

well I found a better deal on one WITH a CE and was able to sell mine on the same day!! so I NOW have my forever guitar...

a 2016 812ce 12 fret :)

let me say...playing a 12 fret without the cutaway for 2 months then switching...feels like someone took handcuffs off me!  so much freedom...Im a happy camper now!

Congratulations Bmoney.  Wow, that is a real looker for sure, and being what it is I am sure it sounds fantastic.

Gorgeous guitar. It's funny how our preference swing back and forth over time. My first Taylor, the 214ce, was a cutaway. Then I decided that I only want non-cutaway guitars, which is what all of my subsequent guitars were. Following my custom Kronbauer in a 12-fret, I decided that there was a bit more restriction without a cutaway, so the last guitar I bought I made sure it had one. Very glad I did.

Either way, enjoy the new guitar!

Congrats on a beauty! Did you notice much, if any, difference tonally between them? Not all guitars in a series will sound identical. I have a GA3 and love its tone. I opted to get a GA3e, but was very surprised when the second one didn't sound anything like the first.

Enjoy your gorgeous 812ce 12 fret! :)

Sweet!

Love me a Taylor GC 12-fret Cutaway! I have a Custom All-Mahogany 12 fret and a 562ce.

Sweet guitar, mine is my favorite guitar for sure. My “Wildwood” edition essentially means with Adirondack bracing, which is standard in yours. They sure sound and feel awesome. Enjoy.
