Title: Hello
Post by: HarpoonDog on October 02, 2017, 11:01:42 PM
I'm new to UTGF - My name is Steve and I have a 814 ce that I have owned for about 12 years now. I bought it because a friend owned one and I loved it. It's still a great guitar and I love the sound. I play it through a Roland Cube Street EX. I've been playing a guitar for over 50 years and this is the best one I've had. Well, I hope I did this right. I really don't know how to post on this forum.

You've been playing for 50 years? Wow! I bet you're tired! (It's okay, I'm not contagious.) I've actually been playing a little longer, though I have been known to take a break every now and then. Until I was 50, I played a long string of inexpensive guitars, several that I rescued from pawn shops. I always enjoyed them, even my old Epiphone 12-string with the bent neck, a $75 pawn shop beauty that I still play occasionally. At 50, I began saving up for my first "nice" guitar. I thought it would be a nice Martin HD-35. Still want one! But while I saved I explored. I played every guitar I could get my hands on, thinking I might spend up to $2,000 - a lot on a music minister's salary! It took me two years to decide, and to save enough. I ended up with a 2000 914c, which is still my main go to guitar, though I have others now. Your 814ce will prove to be a great long range choice, like mine did. You're among friends here. Hope you enjoy hanging out with us!

Gee whiz, welcome from another 1/2 century player.  My only complaint is that my hands are stiffening up now that I've got more time to hang out a little and play
