Seen it tonight about fifteen feet from where I sat. A real guitar and a guitar legend. Willie Nelson and the Martin named Trigger. Pure Awesome. Not sure but I believe he is now 81 yrs old. If you get the chance you should go see him. He can really pull the sound out of that old beat up box. Don't know what kind of piano his little sister Bobbi plays but she is an awesome musician as well.

My contribution to the "legendary guitar" list is the pre-war D45 that Marty Stuart owns and plays on his tv show. He acquired it from his then father-in-law, Johnny Cash who got it from Hank Williams Jr.
Since those pre-war D45's have sold for over $200,000 (without the cache of famous ownership) what do you think it would go for in an auction??? Which guitar do you think would go for more, Marty's D45 or Willie's Trigger? My guess would be Trigger. There is a lot of Texas oil money out there and Texan's love their Willie.

Possibly the D-45. For the Hank and Johnny Cash connection. My vote would be for Tony Rice's 1935 Martin D-28 with a replaced fingerboard and enlarged soundhole, formerly owned (and modified) by Clarence White. To bluegrass guitar players it is the holy grail. Rumor has it Tony has been offered over $1,000,000 for the guitar. Doubt it is true.
Saw Willie and Trigger in the mid 1980's when he was playing shows at the Minnesota State Fair.
