Title: 8 string Uke
Post by: mikeguywest on October 24, 2013, 06:22:52 PM
I've seen some 8-string Ukes on ebay and was intrigued. Have any of you played one before? They're set up kind of like a 12-string guitar so I'm thinking differing octaves with each pair.

Never played one but I've heard they are better for strumming. Difficult for fingerstyle.

That works for me, as I only strum for the most part. There were a few of these from Vietnam. I wonder if they were made by the same people that made your new one?

Only the middle two strings (C & G) have octave pairs, the E and A have identically-tuned strings.  That makes sense, because the octave on those would be very high.

Thanks, AZ, for the link. I'm really tempted to get an 8 string baritone Uke one day.
