Title: Any ideas on placing a lavalier mic on a Taylor?
Post by: Jake_Henry on March 28, 2013, 02:36:15 PM
So, I play mostly mandolin, and recently picked up a nice Audio Technica wireless system, with a lavalier mic, for my mandolin.  Very similar frequency responses between voice and mandolin, and it sounds better than a variety of pickups I've tried, and gives me a lot of mobility and comfort on stage.  It was easy to mount on the mandolin right where the neck meets the body of the instrument, on the lowest course side.

Any ideas where/how to mount something like this on a Taylor?  Putting them near the sound hole seems to make an unnaturally boomy sound...
