Title: Plastic rosettes?
Post by: TD2 on January 23, 2023, 03:10:34 PM
According to the Taylor website, both my GSMini and my new 322ce 12-fret both have plastic rosettes. Does that mean they are actually a decal?

I don't think so. It just means what it says. The rosette is made of plastic (vs wood or another material) before it is inlaid. Here's an example of just the rosette (not Taylor specific either) in other materials : http://www.guitar-parts-depot.com/acoutsic-guitar-rosettes.html

Sometimes Taylor refers to their inlays as "Italian acrylic", which is still a fancy name for plastic.

A certain special type of plastic though (different polymers) and certainly NOT a sticker in any case.
