Road Show ...they're back!
« on: November 15, 2023, 12:31:26 AM »
Just went to a Taylor Road Show last night.  Back in form, finally: solid demo, they brought a large stable, ended with the "petting zoo."  Great show, just as the past ones have been.  Highly recommended if one comes up in your locale!  I certainly don't need anything new, but it's always a fun night to be able to hang out with nice folks and play some nice guitars!
:D

Interesting as the official site says they're still not on and here's the "schedule" page: https://blog.taylorguitars.com/events/road-show (with ZERO upcoming or past dates showing).

I noticed there was a "Taylor Showcase" last night in the Philly area : https://www.russomusic.com/blogs/news/taylor-guitars-showcase-at-philadelphia-nov-14th-2023 but that's not a "Road Show" per se although this one https://houseofguitars.com/mc-events/taylor-road-show-2023/ was held last month and while called a "showcase" by Taylor, the vendor is also calling it a "Road Show".

FYI also one in OR tomorrow (also called a "Show Case") here: https://uptownmusic.com/news-events/2023/11/7/taqylor-guitars-showcase

Maybe it's just semantics but then why hasn't Taylor updated their site? I have no idea.

I hope their site is just lagging.  It's a good way to spend an evening! :)

Yah.. I hope they come my way again.   I had a really good time 5 years ago or so when they came to my area.

I have always enjoyed the Road Shows -- been to maybe eight in four different states -- and glad to see them back.  I'm not buying any more Taylor guitars, but it is a good way to spend an evening with fellow guitar geeks.   8)
Taylors:  424-LTD (all koa) and a 114ce that lives with friends in Alaska.  Low maintenance carbon fiber guitars are my "thing" these days, but I will always keep the koa 424.  Several ukulele and bass guitars too.
*Gone but not forgotten:  a 2001 414ce, 410, 354-LTD twelve string, 314-N, 416-LTD baritone, T5 Classic, 615ce, 2006 GS-K, 1996 (first year) Baby

Same here, Earl!  I am in zero need and have zero desire for any guits!  But it's a fun thing to do.  And they always do a great job of it.  :)

Wow, there's a long forgotten pre-covid moment for ya. I recalll going to one in Georgia where they demo'ed one of the first "V" bracing models and I honestly could hear the difference in notes being in tune all the way up the neck. It was fun to be in a room with so many nice Taylors I could try out and hear.

Please post when and if the schedule becomes more accurate as I'll likely forget and miss it. . .

I went to one in South Jersey some years ago that was led by Doyle Dykes. Not my style of music, but I was still amazed by his talent. All in all, a really great experience. I'm glad they are offering them again!
