Hello from Montreal
« on: December 01, 2016, 03:44:13 PM »
Greetings to all,

First time Taylor owner, it has been 2 weeks since I've acquired a 410ce-R and couldn't be any happier with the purchase.  For myself, to grasp that this masterfully crafted instrument will improve as it ages is simply overwhelming!

I haven't played or gigged in so long, however, now that my teenage son has shown interest in the guitar, I've had the opportunity to reacquaint myself with a part of me that I left behind after marrying and having children. So, while shopping for a guitar for my son, I came across a couple of Taylor's that blew me away!  These are some darn fine musical instruments!  I had been since trying to find the right fit for me and settled on the 410ce-R.

I've tried to attach a pic and hope it comes through.

Welcome to the forum.  We have the same story.

Thank you all for the kind welcome!

It's been a couple weeks and I'm so happy with this guitar!  The tonal nuances this instrument articulates as result of using different strumming/fingering/picking with/without capo is just so broad!  I really don't understand those that claim Taylors are too bright (and I've also heard 'tinny').  I can easily play wonderful warm tones and seamlessly extend to a throaty growl!

My main influences are the likes of SRV and Jimi Hendrix, consequently, my main go-to guitars were always electric (favorite being a 1978 Les Paul Custom, heavy it is, but it's a tone monster) and since the 410 has come home, I have literally not played anything else.

EDIT:  The one thing I've failed to mention (and cannot be seen in the picture I posted above) is that this 410 has flamey rosewoods sides, they are gorgeous!  The back doesn't, however, it is nonetheless aesthetically pleasing.

Niro -- forgot to mention the 414 was made in 1997 so it is really opened up and sounds great.  I tend to forget my 314, Zager and Seagull when I go to play!!!
