Well finally posting pictures of my Taylor BTO Grand Concert with figured cocobolo back and sides and englemann top. I knew it would be a special guitar and it has exceeded my expectations ( I may have been disappointed had it not).
I like my guitars to be “understated elegance”, beautiful wood and design but not into bling or electronics. So the abalone rosette, with ebony bound sound hole, abalone dot fret board markers and the paua Taylor logo on the head stock were just the thing.
Specs include short scale with 1 3/4” nut width. Ebony binding on body, neck and peghead. Adirondack CV bracing. Gold Gotohs with black buttons. Also the neck is the same gloss finish as the guitar.
The guitar has beautiful over all balance, with excellent projection. Tight focused base and full ringing trebles, couldn’t be happier.
In a recent post “Testing Images” I posted two cell phone pictures the Taylor Rep sent from the factory. The quality isn’t good but I trusted the source. And from what I understand I was lucky enough to get one of the last sets of cocobolo Taylor will be selling (at least for now). I hope everyone enjoys the pictures.

That back is wild! Congrats....glad to hear you are really happy with it!

That's a beauty! Congratulations!
-
Congrats, very similar specs to my custom GC!

That is a beauty and its amazing how the back changed from the raw wood pictures you posted with just a bit of sandpaper and some varnish :-)
It looks like I've missed the boat on cocobolo, it will all be gone before I've paid for my K24ce and I'm allowed to look for another one.

That is hands down the best Cocobolo I've seen, congrats!

Wowzers! That is the best looking cocobolo back I've ever seen.

That's not necessarily the case. Taylor probably has a moderate supply of it in their wood cache; I think the current rumor is that they won't be buying any more of it. I would guess they can meet the demand for the next few years, though.
Then there's always the used market...

Yeah, it's no rumor, as long as drug cartels control it in Mexico, Bob is saying "no thank you". That could change, but I don't see it anytime soon.

That's a serious beauty, blitz; a stunning representation of coco you have there! And sonically, I'm sure it's likewise beautiful. I've only "recently" (as in the last couple of years) turned into a real Engelmann convert ...just love it as a topwood! My RT-2 (a GC sized body) is engel with quilted maple and it is super articulate with warm, present mids at the same time, yet bass notes ring deep and round. Enjoy your beauty in good health!

Well I hope that Timfitz is correct because my wife thinks that Blitz's guitar is gorgeous :-)

Just stunning! I so agree with you, understated elegance is abundant! IMHO any added bling would just take away from the natural beauty.... Glad it exceeded your expectations, enjoy!
-
That is one awesome looking guitar! Congrats and enjoy the many hours of playing that will give you.
-
That is one fine looking piece of furniture! And you say it produces music too?
