I know of people that use one pick for 30 years.  In those cases the price of a pick is not relavent to your playing enjoyment

Got a Roadie Tuner. I feel like I'm in elementary school and getting to do my math homework on a caculator. Works really well.

Santa was kind this year - I must have been a good boy (for a change).  I got a Fender Jazz Bass from my better half - I guess she got fed up with me whining (and sometimes wining) each time my bass-playing friend asked for his loaner back.  I haven't had a lot of time playing it yet, as daughter #2 has sort of claimed it herself, but I won't complain - girl bass-players are one of the coolest things in the world...

I didn't have any extra monies to buy anymore guitars at Christmas but I definitely had the bug to try and get another Taylor.  So, I traded my Gibson "Smartwood" Les Paul for a beautiful 2011 Taylor DN4.  It was a good Christmas and was lucky to find this one while being able to spend and give to others over the Holiday Season.  I'm trying to keep that theme going in 2016.  Give to others while trading for more Taylors.  I traded a set of strat pickups for a Taylor guitar (Grand Auditorium style) case yesterday.  Now, I just need to find the next Taylor guitar for that empty case.  Exciting times.  :)
