People have asked for some absolutely off the wall stuff on BTO's.

Could Taylor have built them? Without question.

But just because Taylor can build something doesn't mean that they will.

If they believe that something's just going to look ridiculous or hideous, they won't do it. Spend 15 minutes with some of the product development guys and you will quickly realize that there's really very little they can't do. There are a host of things, however, that they won't do.

I don't recall specifics, but I remember more than a couple of conversations with end users who gave me an earful because we wouldn't do something that they were perfectly willing to pay for. You would be amazed at how many people think that their money should rule the day. Well, it doesn't, and people who are used to getting what they want, simply because they have the money to pay for it, don't know how to process being told "No, we're not going to do that"...

Consider that Taylor, who puts Mr Taylor's name on the headstock, may not want to be associated with something outlandish.
Hey, it was a good thing for the company, long ago, when Bob built that purple guitar that Prince played.

But, interestingly enough, the "Taylor" name was nowhere to be seen...

there's a slight typo - the AGP-2 was made by Fishman, rather than LR Baggs

hi Cindy
i just went back to it & it won't work for me either -
it didn't like being to be 'linked' to for some reason, i guess  ::)

google search for alan jackson taylor guitar & then clicking on images,
there is a tiny pic in the middle of the second row - clicking on it makes it a
little bigger, but the larger one (relatively, as it was 38K) seem to be gone

i changed to the link in the previous post to the google search -
the maple looked a good bit like this one on Taylor's Facebook page :o
