Well I’ve been trying to play guitar for some 30 years. I get some good times from it. No pro. But I’ve had some nice guitars. Now my only guitar is a true first edition 718e.
Wow. Such an easy to play good guitar.
I like the factory bone nut and saddle. I bought a correct bone nut to lower the action a smidge. Did that all myself.
The Taylor’s flexibility with neck reset is amazing.
This guitar has a burst that is indescribable. The hog neck has a burst on the back. I was floored at first look. Love at first sight. Then I played it. Taylor’s “jumbo”. Wow.
She is a keeper. Perfect fret work. No buzz. Just clean chords and notes that sound unbelievable. It was a limited edition first edition and the next year they hD a whole line of first editions including the 718 so this is a one year edition, factory bone nut and saddle, and perfection in every way.
I also like the 1.75” nut width. My hands are large so it’s an easy player.
The range is noteable as well. Hit it soft to hard and it will ring true. Lots of flexibility.
It is a big guitar. I usually just pick it up for 10 minutes and knock the house down. Hang it up and smile.
