question on repair
« on: February 08, 2016, 03:26:06 PM »
I'm not worried about the bumps and bruises on the 414ce I just purchased, but a little concerned about the top where your arm lays. The previous owner was a musician and gigged this guitar hard. As you can see the finish has worn thru and my concern is to prevent it from getting worse. My first thought was to buy a JP ebony armrest to cover it up. Any suggestions?

1. Has anyone installed a John Pearce arm rest? If so, pros/cons please.
2. Would you install an arm rest to cover up a damage to the finish?

I mentioned on your "armrest" post that the damage doesn't look at all bad from the photo's.  It's just wear and tear.  Personally I would just leave it...
