RIP Eddie Money / Ric Ocasek
« on: September 14, 2019, 08:52:34 AM »
Another music icon of the 70's has died. Rest in peace Eddie Money

9/16-19
As I wake up this morning three days after the news of Eddie Money I heard that Ric Ocasek has also passed.

I do a bit of concert photography, and have had the opportunity to shoot Eddie and his band on many occasions. The guy was the consummate showman, and he left it all out on the stage, every show, every night.

I met Eddie through Lee Beverly, his longtime bass player. Eddie was always engaging, accommodating and approachable. We weren't on each other's Christmas card list, but it was always nice to get a nod when he saw me in the pit, or to hang out a bit after a show.

He'll be missed.

Another talented person whose band, the Cars, gave us so many memorable songs (and great lead guitar licks too). R.I.P.

Words elude me right now, so I'll use the words of others.

I know it's not a Cars' song, but
". . . just another band out of Boston" they weren't just another band.

Hopefully there's two tickets to paradise available.
