My Thoughts on the UTGF
« on: May 26, 2019, 09:38:29 AM »
I spend a decent amount of time here on the UTGF, for a few reasons, because.....
(1) of my love for Taylor guitars
(2) of my duties as a moderator
(3) it is a pleasant place to spend some time

I was sitting here thinking about it and wanted to expand upon (3).

I belong to several other forums, most of which are music related. I enjoy those forums too, don't get me wrong. But, I have to say, this forum is my favorite for the overall content and tone.

The information that is shared here is informative and helpful, whether talking about guitars, the accessories for our guitars, or whatever.

When members have questions, issues or problems, other members are quick to help with answers or possible solutions.

The members of this forum are helpful, considerate, and supportive. It is reflected in the generally positive nature of the posts and threads.

I think this is worth mentioning, because it is you, the members, that make it so. And it is because of our wonderful Administrator, Josh, who makes this all possible. Thank you.  :)

No, Thank You, Susie.

And that 'Thank You' extends to Josh and all who work to provide us with a comfortable 'home'.

Susie, thanks for stating what should not go unnoticed about this forum. It is by far the best forum to which I've had the pleasure of belonging. "Belonging" can only come about when the group presents a warm, welcoming, non-judgmental tone to newbies and members alike.  Thanks go to you, Josh and the other moderators for making it so,  and thanks to all members who make this sort of fellowship possible!

UTGF has always felt more like home and more relaxed than the other on-line fora that I participate in.  And with very few contentious posts and posters.  These days my interests have drifted away from wood guitars in favor of carbon fiber - one brand in particular - so I have most likely bought my last Taylor already.  However, I still check in almost daily and post when I can make a relevant contribution.

As always, a salute to the moderators and to Josh.   :)
Taylors:  424-LTD (all koa) and a 114ce that lives with friends in Alaska.  Low maintenance carbon fiber guitars are my "thing" these days, but I will always keep the koa 424.  Several ukulele and bass guitars too.
*Gone but not forgotten:  a 2001 414ce, 410, 354-LTD twelve string, 314-N, 416-LTD baritone, T5 Classic, 615ce, 2006 GS-K, 1996 (first year) Baby

Thanks for posting this, Susie. You've expressed my sentiments precisely.  If it wasn't for my purchase of a Taylor a few yrs ago I wouldn't be here enjoying what everyone has thus far stated.  It's a wonderful family!
I think there's a maturity and respect for others here that is lacking somewhat in other sites.
Only one thing that I'd like to see - more people posting on a daily basis.

Susie and Josh, you folks are the best.

Many thanks to the administrators and moderators of this excellent forum.  No longer than I’ve been playing and falling In love with Taylors, this forum has been very useful and helpful for me.  And the great people make all the difference.  Of course it helps that we are all Taylor fans unlike the many other forums I’ve visited
