Buying a used 414ce
« on: April 18, 2019, 10:52:24 AM »
Found a 2003 414ce for sale on craigslist. The guy says it's a 414ce Limited edition with Rosewood, and the receipt he produced also says 414ce-LTD Rosewood (the "LTD Rosewood" part is handwritten), but the sticker inside the guitar only says 414ce... Any idea how to verify it's actually a Rosewood LTD?

Get the serial number from the seller (if it's not already visible on the photo of the sticker) and call Taylor Customer service at 800-943-6782.  They'll be able to tell you everything you want to know about the guitar, including whether it's a Limited Edition made with Rosewood.

I have a 414 from 2003 that is rosewood and the label says 414-L2. Of course calling Taylor directly answers all questions
414-L2 (2003)
614ce (2015)
810e DLX (2015)
K24ce (2015)
516e-FLTD (2013)
Gibson J-15 (2016)
Larrivee L-05 (2018)
Larrivee OM-40R (2018)
Martin D-18 (1959) -my grandpa, then dad's guitar
Rockbridge SJ - German Spruce/Cocobolo (2011)
