man......the first time I played an 814 I said "holy s&^%"!

I loved the sound then and every time I played it since, but thought the guitar was out of reach. As an amatuer, I thought it was a lot to spend, and I have a great axe in my Yairi.

Fortune smiled on me a bit and I was able treat myself.  (as someone posted either here or on AGF, I followed the golden rule.....my gold, my rules!)  I love the way it feels, the way it sounds, everything, right out of the box.......so much so that I don't want to change anything!  I'm even afraid to try different strings!

I felt the same way.  Never thought I'd spend so much on a guitar.  Mainly because I have only been playing for 5 years but the 814ce kept calling to me...at the store, in my house, at work, and even in my dreams.  It has opened me up to the world of fingerpicking which I am picking up rather well.  Mainly because I want to play it all the time whereas if I had bought something I just kind of liked, I might not be inclined to play it as often.
