First post, and NGD! Taylor 224ce Koa
« on: September 13, 2018, 02:22:18 PM »
My dream acoustic.

My first acoustic love was an older 114ce that i foolishly traded years ago and have been trying to find a suitable replacement since. I had just decided this was the one i was going to be responsible and save for, when a random guy texted me from an old ad in CL, saying he had a taylor to trade. I didnt even have what i had on the ad anymore, but i asked what model he had. He said a 224ce Koa.  :o offered him the Martin DX1AE i JUST got last friday and some other items and ..he agreed and JUST SO HAPPENED to be in town on business. He lives a state over.

I call it fate!

P.S. -- i have always hated the es2 system, but i took the time and loosened the pickup screws lastnight and it helped a ton.

Such a pretty guitar.  There is lots of love here for the 224's and the 200 series in general.  I'm a big fan of koa as a tone wood.  And welcome!
Taylors:  424-LTD (all koa) and a 114ce that lives with friends in Alaska.  Low maintenance carbon fiber guitars are my "thing" these days, but I will always keep the koa 424.  Several ukulele and bass guitars too.
*Gone but not forgotten:  a 2001 414ce, 410, 354-LTD twelve string, 314-N, 416-LTD baritone, T5 Classic, 615ce, 2006 GS-K, 1996 (first year) Baby

Congrats, what a great story. Awesome looking guitar too. Some of those 200’s really punch above their weight. Enjoy.

For those who have played both, I’m curious how the sound of this guitar compares to my $1000s more K24ce.

Aaron, I would appreciate more pics front and back out of the case. Congrats on your trade.
