New guy in Nashville
« on: March 11, 2018, 08:56:43 PM »
Hey everybody, thanks for adding me to the forum.  So far, my only Taylor is a 2014 GS Mini-e Koa FLTD.  It's a sweet little guitar, but I like playing fingerstyle on nylon strings, so I'm thinking of adding a 312ce-N.   :)

Hey Stephen, welcome !  You only need one Taylor to be a happy guitarist, but two ain't bad either.

Martin D-20 12 string (1970)
Yamaha APX500III
Taylor 110e Prototype (2016)
Fender Squier Vintage Modified 70s Tele
Reville MV-XM (actually a very nice Gibson copy!)
Donner Strat (copy)

Welcome to the forum Stephen.  Glad to have you here.  I love my mini, it is just so much fun to play.

Thanks, y'all!  That 312ce nylon string I mentioned is on its way.  I'll let you know what I think, after I've played it for a bit.  :)

Well, the Taylor 312ce-N guitar that I ordered from Musician's Friend has come and gone.  I kept it about a week and then returned it.  It was a perfectly lovely guitar, and I really wanted to love it, but I didn't like the neck on it.  Guess I didn't realize that a 12-fret join combined with a full 25-1/2 inch neck (648 mm) would mean those frets would be awfully far apart.  I'm 62 and my old hands don't stretch like they once did. Anyway, I called MF who gave me an RA#, and I returned the guitar for a refund, minus shipping.  I tend to favor short scale guitars, which is one reason I love my GS Mini, and I do have a Cordoba C9 Parlor classical guitar that maybe I could install a pickup in...
