Hello from Virginia!
« on: February 27, 2018, 08:03:14 AM »
I'm surprised I got this handle (I've been using it for a long time elsewhere, but surprised nobody had it here).

Been playing for 40 years - eventually, I'll get good at it.

First guitar was a "Fame" Japanese OM knock-off with a hideous single-coil pickup and volume / 'tone' knobs drilled through the top. I've got pictures - it wasn't pretty.

2nd guitar - Ventura D-41 copy. Solid top, decent action, got me through several years of learning.

Next - Ovation Legend, which paved the way for my first Taylor - here's that list:

514ce
W-10
Baby-M
356ce

Other guitars:
Fender MIJ Telecaster Custom
Fender MIM Tele Baja
G&L ASAT Bluesboy semi-hollow
Fender Robert Cray Stratocaster
Gibson ES-335
Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins
Godin Multiac Nylon Ambience

I want to get a 'real' nylon string for acoustic performances - looking at the 812ce-N as well as other guitars. Saving up for the K14ce Builder's model. I may sell a couple to get that one.

Welcome to the forum Taylorgtr.  Re your handle: Ya, that is odd that it has not been taken, we do have a few names that start with Taylor, just not like yours.  Good for you.

I guess I should post pics:

Here's (most of) the current line-up:

The Rick Turner nylon string has been sold (I'll post what it funded later down the page).

Electrics - the ES-335 is on the bump list (don't play it as much, don't like it as much as I do the Fenders)

I just picked this up in January.....356ce 12 string

And this is what replaces the Rick Turner RN-6. Should be here early next week.

Nice lineup Taylorgtr.  I see your no newby to Taylor, you have a few good ones.  I to have a 514ce, I have had it the longest of all my Taylors.  Also, your Blackguard is sweet.

The 514ce is my finger style workhorse. Every time I think about upgrading it, all I have to do is play at again and say,
"Nope, you get to stay. "
