12-string string separation
« on: July 26, 2019, 02:35:35 PM »
Got my new Wood and Steel today.  The new 12-string fascinates me.  How does Taylor keep the strings separated at the bridge?  Nothing mentioned and the bridge pictures are very dark.

Love to hear an explanation.

Thanks!

Small notches filed into the saddle?  You can do the same thing to widen saddle spacing on a six string., say if wanted 2-1/4" instead of Taylor standard 2-3/16".
Taylors:  424-LTD (all koa) and a 114ce that lives with friends in Alaska.  Low maintenance carbon fiber guitars are my "thing" these days, but I will always keep the koa 424.  Several ukulele and bass guitars too.
*Gone but not forgotten:  a 2001 414ce, 410, 354-LTD twelve string, 314-N, 416-LTD baritone, T5 Classic, 615ce, 2006 GS-K, 1996 (first year) Baby
