congrats on the adi/eirw GA, skavon &
WELCOME !thank for sharing the pics also -
i really like the clean aesthetic features &
i'm glad you happy with the tone as well ...  very nice 8)

i previously owned an adi/coco GA & it had seldomed been played before i got it -
i really can't recall seeing a heavily silked adi top with a spot of bearclaw on a Taylor
before, but this one had it & an exceptionally sweet midrange that enveloped each note :)

a little of adi's darker streaks are on the bass bout, below the bridge & above the fretboard

it's not about what you play,
it's all about why you play ...

Thanks Roseadi, ggj and michaelw. That's what I was going for: simplicity, clean lines, minimal bling. Not that i dont like the fancy guitars (some are gorgeous) but for this one i def wanted simplicity. In fact, probably should not have had the fret inlays put in. That's the only thing I might do different if I did it over again, but thats not a complaint. She's a beauty for sure and sounds amazing.

Beautiful looking guitar Michael. I wonder how much the coco differs from the eir in regards to sound? I'm guessing subtle differences

thanks :)
i haven't played an adi/eirw, but i have been able to compare different coco guitars
(sitka 810L10, engelmann 714cLTD & the 914ce), along with a 00 914c (engelmann),
a 97 814c & sitka/madagascar 716ceLTD & to me the coco is a bit less resonant on the low end
than eirw, but it seemed more evenly balanced in the mids & the trebles have a bit more shimmer -
this is all based on pre-CV guitars, save for the 716ceLTD & even though the top & bracing
were sitka on the 7, i'd slot that one in-between eirw & coco, leaning a bit towards coco

i used refer  the top on this one as being 'sitkarondack', because to me, it sounded like it ;)

he describes it as springy! i don't own an Adi topped taylor...but i certain love what Adi does on my other guitar.

boing, boing, boing ...

boing :)

hi swiftz,
your 08 GAceLTD cocobolo does have the adi CV bracing on it, which Bob feels
the bracing provide 80% of what an adi top does & given a choice of one or the other
he would suggest a sitka top with adi CV, rather than an adi top with spruce bracing ...
the adi CV adi top mahogany 516ce he was playing sure sounds nice, though (imho)

i'll bet your mc pherson is exceptionally nice also, along with the goodall & doerr ... wow  :o  :D
