Good gravy that's sweet looking!  Very classy with the gold Gotohs.  ;)

How's the tone, sustain etc?

PS: great photos!

Yes, it IS very pretty especially without the pickguard. A clear pickguard might look better if one is needed.

What type of finish is on the mini? I started to gloss my 314ce and didn't have any white residue remaining in the grain. Is it the same type of finish that is on the 3xx and 4xx series?

Not sure about the finish, but the grain is open, just like the big baby. Don't like that white residue. I'll be putting the pickguard back on. I like the tortise on mahogany look. It sounds great. I replaced the strings with a set of d'darrio's that I had. I still think it needs to settle in a little, but the tone is fantastic. May put a k&k pwm in it, or a fishman prefix plus so I can use my aura pedal with it.

I was at the Taylor factory last week.  I asked if they would do a straight trade for my GS Mini for one of the hog tops....  They said no.  :(

Yours looks awesome!

the finish on the Mini (BT, BBT & 100s) is listed as varnish,
rather than the UV cured finish on the 300/400/XX3/XX4 series

i imagine the top could be buffed without much of a problem,
but the back & sides do have a textured, open-pore feel,
which has a tendency to collect rubbing compound residue -
i prefer the 'no-guard' look as well, but a beveled Greven-style
guard would look pretty 'upscale' too, especially with the M6s

thanks for sharing the pics, Matt ... enjoy your triple M :D
