Wood & Steel for iPad
« on: January 17, 2012, 06:29:19 PM »
Just put Wood & Steel Magazine on my iPad- it was easy!  Went to Taylor web site and downloaded the PDF to my laptop.  Did File/Add File to Library in iTunes, plugged in my iPad to my computer, and dragged the file on to my iPad- then opened it up in iBooks- very cool!

This is especially useful for me since my eyesight is not the greatest, and I can easily enlarge fonts to any size on the iPad.

I also put it on my iPhone the same way.

Try it- I think you will enjoy it!

After I read this I raced over to Taylor's web site thinking the newest edition of Wood & Steel had been uploaded. :-[

Wouldn't you rather flip pages in a printed magazine? Next thing everyone will be downloading the guitar app for iPad and putting their real guitars in their cases...

I was at first put off by electronic books because I enjoyed holding books, but after a while reading on my iPad I actually prefer to read my books on that. I was kind of surprised!

Besides, one iPad takes up a lot less space than a pile of books. When you're traveling (which I do rather frequently) that makes a big difference.

I think there is a quicker way.

1. On your iPad go to the Taylor site.
2. Go to resources
3. Go to Wood and Steel
4. Download PDF
5. Tap screen and click on open in iBooks

That should place it in your library.

If the file isn't too big, you can email it to your kindle docs too, or load it into iBooks right from the web.

Has anyone tried reading W&S on a Kindle Fire or a Nook?

I'm thinking of getting a Nook (cheaper option than an iPad and my wife wants to "use" it to read Star magazine - I'm not buying and iPad for that!)
