New to the Taylor family... just got my 210 a few days ago.
I'm a late starter as I'm over fifty with just four years playing time. My mentors recommended that I save-up and get a Taylor - well - I did not really save up that long as the 210 I got was very reasonable as a show room model.
I have my first guitar, a Fender DG-8s which is actually a pretty good guitar... does not have the depth of the Taylor but plays great and sounds decent. I have an Ovation CS257 which I love for it's quilted red maple finish, cool epilaps sound-hole design, and soft play with electric size nine strings. I have a Little Martin LX that I keep down on the sail boat - it sounds pretty good too - and I've heard you can use it as a paddle if the boat motor quits! So - with the Taylor in the fold - I'm doing fine on guitars.
My playing has taken a long time to develop... for the first few years I thought I could get away with being self-taught watching the DVD and youtube - did not work out that way and finally broke down and started lessons last September - it was the right thing to do - my play has doubled in quality in just a few months and I am looking forward to where the instructor will take me as the lessons continue.
My goals? Well - long term I have intentions for the wife and I to go cruising and I wanted a way to entertain ourselves while leisurely laying at anchor waiting for sunset. I do have maybe one or two songs rattling around in my head - so the notes and melody will eventually make it out to the fret board. The only song to make onto paper is the cell phone song...
Just pick through the first three strings of E for the verses then strum down the chords for the refrain...
Something's wrong babe - I know it is...
I'm missin' you and wanna talk
but babe you're just not there...
come on babe - pick up that phone...
you know I really care...
G
Your shoes are in the hallway
D
Your dress is on the chair
A
Your lacy things are on the floor...
E
...but I just don't know where
That phone of yours is always on...
it never leaves your side...
you should be able to answer it...
and why you don't - I don't know why???
G
Your shoes are in the hallway
D
Your dress is on the chair
A
Your lacy things are on the floor...
E
...but I just don't know where
There's something wrong - I'm positive...
now you may call me paranoid...
or jealous beyond repair...
but I got the blues real bad
cause when you called you said so-long
and now I finally know where...
G
Your shoes are in the hallway
D
Your dress is on the chair
A
Your lacy things are on the floor...
E
...but I just don't know where
next to his underwear!
Anybody want to buy the song - it's for sale cheap. I'll take a 910 and 2%...
Ha! Anyway - already enjoying the Taylor 210!
