Whew!, thought I was getting left behind when I saw this new great forum started last month! Now I can get my daily Taylor fix!!

I've been playing since the 60's with a couple of lapses in between. Always been an acoustic guy since I heard Peter Paul and Mary finger picking back in 63. Been through a number of guitars over the years, then in 2005 I picked up a 714ce. What a great finger style guitar. While I love acoustic guitars of many stripes, I've got a special place for my 714.

Like the look of this house. While new, it feels like home!

BTW, can we have a sub forum for lovers of koa rosettes? ;)

Hello Roseadi - glad you have joined the forum :) I can only imagine the great view you must have living where you do in the Rockies. My friend Roy has a 714ce which he uses for finger style and I love the warmth from the cedar top. FRom your forum name, I was wondering if by chance you have an adi top on your 714?

John, no adi on the Taylor. My Lowden is rosewood/adirondack. That's a pretty special guitar as well. Way different sounding than the 714. While the Taylor is warm and bell like in tone, the Lowden is dry with amazing overtones, hyper responsive, deep bass and a real joy to play. Both guitars get about the same play time, so that tells you how much I like the Taylor!

Welcome aboard roseadi,

Interesting bio.  You've got me by a few years with playing from the 60's.  I guess I actually started around 69 or 70.  I am still learning each and every day, or I should be :)

barefooter. I may have a few years on you, but that doesn't necessarily mean playing longer. Took an 8 year break when the kids came along! Well worth it but wished I could have those years back with a guitar in hand.

BTW, no one has answered my question about a koa rosette sub forum. :o
